It was father’s day, just before going on a boat tour in the Grand Teton National Park that I had received as a gift from my wife and daughter. The weather was cold and often stormy and we had been camping much of the trip in the snow. I tried to capture the cool light and the turmoil of the constantly changing weather in the reflected clouds and thick active paint. This is a painting of transitions in both clearing skies and warming temperatures, and an ode to a fantastic day spent in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
